It’s National Coloring Book Day!

National Coloring Book Day on August 2nd recognizes the joy found in coloring pages of designs. Coloring it is not only fun but also a great way to escape, relax your mind reduce stress. It generates mindfulness and quietness, which allows your mind to get some rest after a long day at work.

Coloring mandalas is a form of art therapy that increases focus while exercising the brain and expressing creativity. The use of fine repetitive movements as you fill in the shapes gives one the ability to stay focused on the activity, and allows the brain to enter a peaceful state leading to mindfulness or 'being in the present moment'. The result is positive physiological changes and a relaxation effect within the body.
